| Federal Appointee Announced for Fraser River Port Board |

November 12, 2002: The newest Director of the Fraser River Port Authority attended his first Board of Directors meeting today. Mr. Malkiat Dhami, a Vancouver realtor, was appointed to the Fraser River Port Authoritys Board of Directors by Her Excellency the Governor General in an Order in Council dated October 22, 2002. He was appointed on the recommendation of Minister of Transport, David Collenette, and will serve a three-year term.
Mr. Dhami is a real estate agent who currently works for Sutton Group - Killarney Realty Ltd. Since becoming a licensed agent in the 1980s, he has frequently been named among MLSs top-sellers. He has a Bachelor of Education and a Masters degree in Economics. He has been involved in managing community recreational soccer clubs, as well as many other volunteer activities.
The Fraser River Port Authority has a mandate to promote waterborne commerce and trade within Fraser River Port, which extends along the main arm of the lower Fraser River, from the mouth at Sandheads to Kanaka Creek and Pitt Lake. More than 22 million tonnes of cargo move through Fraser River Port terminals each year, creating more than 10,700 direct local jobs.
