November 8, 1999 : As of 4:30 p.m. on Sunday, November 7, a lock out by the B.C. Maritime Employers Association (BCMEA) took effect at all member ports and terminals. At Fraser River Port this applies to Fraser Surrey Docks and Annacis Terminals.

At 8:00 a.m. union members began appearing at entrances to both terminals but they were not being disruptive.
