| Director receives second term on Fraser River Port Board |

September 4, 2004: The Fraser River Port Authority is pleased to
announce that Mr. Kim Husband, a retired BC Provincial Court judge, has been
reappointed to its Board of Directors for a second three-year term, effective
August 28, 2004.
The re-appointment was announced August 27, 2004, by an Order in Council, on the recommendation of The
Honourable Jean-C. Lapierre, Minister of Transport, and in consultation with
user groups. In addition to his responsibilities on the Port Authority’s Board, Mr. Husband is currently Chair
of the New Westminster Rotary Club’s scholarship committee, a director of the
Massey Theatre, and a director of the Douglas College Foundation. Mr. Husband sat on the Bench from 1978 to 2001. He was first appointed to the Port’s Board of Directors on
August 28, 2001. Prior to his appointment to the Bench, he was a senior partner
in a New Westminster law firm. He also worked as director of the Legal Aid
Program, and served as president of the New Westminster Bar Association and
Secretary Treasurer (elect) of the Canadian Bar Association (BC Branch). Always active in his community, Mr. Husband has also served as a member of the City of New Westminster’s
Advisory Planning Board, and as president of both the New Westminster Kiwanis
Club and the YMCA/YWCA. The Port Authority is responsible for Canada’s second busiest port based on total
cargo volume. The port covers 227 kilometers of shoreline along the Fraser
River from Langley to its mouth in the Georgia Strait. It employs over 12,400
people and total Gross Domestic Product exceeds $2.3 billion annually.
