A View of the Fraser - Yours to Own!

July 5, 1999 : The Fraser River has inspired many a painting over the years since Simon Fraser made his historic journey down that waterway. Between 1994 and 1998, the organizers of FraserFest sponsored a different print each year to commemorate that event and the reason for its existence — the Fraser River.

For the festival’s 10th anniversary, FraserFest organizers are offering art lovers the opportunity to purchase one, three, or all five of the numbered festival prints at a special price. A set of five will be available for $650, a trio of prints will cost $450, and a single print is $170. There are limited quantities of some prints.

The gems included in this collection are "Workboat parade on the Fraser" and "New Westminster FraserFest" by Jack Campbell; "The River Below Us" by Jo Scott-B; "Fraser South View" by Raymond Chow; and "A Working Day on the River" by Fred Schaefer.

Prints can be ordered through the Downtown New Westminster Business Improvement Society at 524-4996. You can view the entire collection in a street-level display at 713 Columbia Street, sponsored by TD Bank and Fraser River Port. Prints and order forms will also be available at FraserFest or from the DNWBIS.
