Request for Nominations PORT DIRECTORS The terms of two User Directors of the Fraser River Port
Authority expire on April 30, 2005.
December 10, 2004:
Fraser River Port welcomes M.V. Belle Nautica A new bulk carrier, M.V. Belle Nautica, made Fraser
River Port in British Columbia its first port of call to pick up cargo while on
its maiden voyage from Japan.
November 23, 2004:
Respected Director resigns from Fraser River Port Authority Board Michael J. Jones, MBA, B.Sc, P. Eng, a long-serving member of the Fraser River Port Authority
Board of Directors, will resign his seat effective December 31, 2004.
November 19, 2004:
Fraser River Port third quarter sees continued growth Fraser River Port’s third
quarter saw international cargo throughput for the first nine months of 2004
reach a total of 4,411,097 tonnes, and domestic tonnage hit 22,805,327,
exceeding the same first three quarters of 2003 by 13 per cent and five per
cent respectively, marking another year of record cargo volumes and consecutive
growth.

Fraser River Port reports growth at Annual Public Meeting Fraser River Port is
thriving and will continue to be a strong generator of jobs and prosperity for
BC’s Lower Mainland, Port officials said at their Annual Public Meeting held in
New Westminster, October 14th.

Director receives second term on Fraser River Port Board The Fraser River Port Authority is pleased to
announce that Mr. Kim Husband, a retired BC Provincial Court judge, has been
reappointed to its Board of Directors for a second three-year term, effective
August 28, 2004.
August 25, 2004: Second quarter shows robust growth in Fraser River Port container traffic In the second quarter of 2004, Fraser River Port
international and domestic cargo throughput reached 9,366,715 tonnes, exceeding
the 8,817,821 tonnes for the same quarter in 2003.
July 15, 2004: Port Authority donates regimental band performance to FraserFest 2004 The
Fraser River Port Authority is donating a performance by the Royal Westminster
Regiment Band to entertain the crowds at FraserFest 2004.

June 15, 2004: Girder symbolic of Port Authority’s support to Delta The Fraser River Port
Authority received a unique token of appreciation for its support to Delta’s
Millennium Committee and its Millennium Bridge across Green Slough, when it was
presented with a segment of iron girder from the project.
June 15, 2004: Fraser Surrey Docks welcomes M.V. Port Pegasus’ arrival on maiden voyage A second new bulk
carrier in a week has made Fraser River Port its first port of call to pick up
cargo while on its maiden voyage from Hong Kong.
June 14, 2004: Fraser Surrey Docks Greets M.V. TIMARU STAR on Maiden Voyage A new bulk carrier, M.V. Timaru Star, made Fraser River Port its first
port of call to pick up cargo while on its maiden voyage from Hong Kong. The
ship was officially welcomed to Fraser Surrey Docks during a ceremony held
aboard the ship on June 9, 2004.
May 28, 2004: Fraser River Port Shows International Gains in First Quarter of 2004
In the first quarter of 2004, the Fraser
River Port cargo throughput tallied 8,243,886 tonnes in international and
domestic shipping.
May 1, 2004: Fraser River Port Authority Fills Key Board Positions
During annual, scheduled elections held at a meeting last month, Mr. Malkiat Dhami was elected
to the position of Chair and Ms. Juliana Yung was re-elected Vice Chair of the
Fraser River Port Authority’s Board of Directors.
March 11, 2004: Fraser River Port Unveils $190 Million Project
Greater efficiencies will result through a $190
million investment, including the phased upgrade of Fraser Surrey Docks and the
creation of a new intermodal yard nearby, it was announced today.
January 25, 2004: Notice of Intent - Ocean Disposal
This is notification that on January 25, 2004 the Fraser River Port
Authority intends to apply to Environment Canada for an Ocean Disposal
Permit under the Canadian Environmental Protection Act.
January 22, 2004: New Chair and Vice Chair at Fraser River Port
At a meeting of the Board of Directors of the Fraser River Port Authority
held on January 9, 2004, Mr. Kim Husband was elected Board Chair. Ms. Juliana Yung was elected Vice Chair at a
subsequent Board meeting, held January 21, 2004.
