Fraser River Port Welcomes CSAV'S CENPAC Service

With today’s arrival of the M.V. Merkur River at Fraser River Port, south of Vancouver, B.C., Chilean carrier CSAV (Compania Sud Americana de Vapores) launched it’s new "CENPAC" liner service from the Far East to Canada with southbound connections to Central and South America.

Fraser River Port welcomed the Pacific Highway at Fraser Wharves today on her maiden voyage just a few months after that of her sister ship the European Highway.

The Fraser River Port Authority is marking the advent of a new millennium with the creation of a $250,000 Millennium Fund. It provides the Port Authority with an opportunity to create a legacy that will enhance the close relationship between the Fraser River and those who live and work along its shores.

The Royal Canadian Sea Cadet Corps Fraser will be the actual beneficiaries of a $6,500 grant awarded by the Fraser River Port Authority tonight to the Navy League of Canada, New Westminster Branch.
