The Fraser River Port Authority is pleased to announce their sponsorship of
FraserFest'99. Now in its 10th year, the festival is a celebration of the Fraser
River and its role in the many communities bordering its shores. This year, it's

Announcement of Federal Appointments to the New Board of the Fraser River
Port Authority
Transport Minister David Collenette today announced the appointment of Allan
Collerman and Sylvia J. Corning, both of Burnaby, B.C., Michael J. Jones of
Surrey, B.C., Patrick Yiu-wah Wong of North Vancouver, B.C., and Juliana Yung of
Richmond, B.C., to the board of directors of the Fraser River Port Authority,
effective May 1, 1999.

Fraser River Harbour Commission becomes Fraser River Port Authority
Transport Minister David Collenette today announced the establishment, under the
new Canada Marine Act, of Canada Port Authorities (CPAs) at the ports of Prince
Rupert and Fraser River, B.C.; Trois-Rivières, Quebec City, Saguenay and Sept-Îles,
Que.; Saint John, N.B.; and St. John’s, Nfld.

22,221,573 tonnes. Volumes include a 33% increase in container shipments which
totalled 24,911 TEUs.
