One of the Fraser River Port Authority's primary duties is to supervise
the harbour. It is a complex physical environment with many users and stakeholders.
The Port Authority endeavours to ensure the safety of everyone using the harbour
through:
- regular channel maintenance
- harbour patrol
- emergency planning and response
The Port Authority also manages – and to some degree regulates – activity in
the harbour through a variety of guidelines and procedures. Broad selections of
these documents are provided here:
Regulations for port users have been set out in the Canada Marine Act and the Port Authority's Letters Patent. See
Legislation for
more details.
