Delta Properties

The Port Authority owns several disparate upland properties in Delta, BC, which it currently leases to tenants.

Delta Properties comprises a group of non-adjoining lots situated on the south shore of the river, downstream of Nordel Way. This land was purchased with a view to the possible development of a deep-sea port facility on-site, as envisioned in the Port Authority's Land Use Plan. The river depth fronting the lots would allow for the development of loading facilities for coastal commodities, such as forest products.

Currently, the lots are bisected by a rail line jointly owned by Canadian National and Burlington Northern Santa Fe. River Road also runs along the waterfront, separating the uplands from the river. Some of the lots are being leased and used for industrial purposes while others have been used for the storage of river sand.
